History & Our Expansion
In March 2024, Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center opened its newly expanded, world-class facility — marking a major milestone in our growth and dedication to serving the community.
- The new center spans 30,000 square feet on more than 8 acres, making it the largest freestanding orthopaedic surgery center in Kentucky.
- It features eight operating rooms (expanded from three), state-of-the-art equipment, and a modern design developed with direct input from our physicians to prioritize patient experience and clinical excellence.
- The facility includes advanced technologies such as antimicrobial lighting systems and two Stryker Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Systems, which enhance precision and predictability for procedures like total joint replacements.
- Its location at 3475 Blazer Parkway in Lexington provides improved access, expanded capacity, and a more streamlined experience for patients and providers.
